That picture is about 35 years old.
As the executive cannot decide the question of war on the affirmative side, neither ought it to do so on the negative side, by preventing the competent body from deliberating on the question.

I would put the picture at around 1972 or so, +/- 3 years.
That was the era of innocence, when one did little about appearances because artificial traditions were all suspect. It was only after it was discovered how difficult it was to wash long hair and beards, that shaving and haircuts came back into acceptance. In some ways it is a shame, because everyone back then did have sort of a natural messianic look. |

I prefer the Richard Dreyfus comment. When I started working on the railroad there were few long hairs. I had a few call me Jesus to be funny. I ended up being good at my job. In then end that won out over me being different.
