Last summer (2006) I made my third trip to Alaska. The highlight was a sockeye fishing trip to Wolverine Creek, where I spent more time shooting video and taking photographs of bears than fishing. Three of the bears passed within 15 feet of our boat.

I know this is the "light" board, but I should mention that climate change is already affecting these valuable habitats in Alaska. I will save the "heavy" stuff for the other board.
