You gathered that from a conversation with a lady I liked and never should have even had that conversation 'with her'? I doubt anyone of us are perfect and even decades later I have realized I should not have said anything.
Maybe I do have a 'dark side' when it comes to the extremely obese, that cannot even get out of bed. (There are several doctors that are now helping these people)
Richard Simmons could not help them, even though he tried, by paying to get them into obese clinics.
(I heard some was even suing him) he does a fabulous dance routine though and has helped many not in the 'extreme obese category. I watched a documantary of one doctors plight to help as many of these people as he can. (It is working and it is a wonderful thing he is doing)

I am sure you agree with me that Grace OK...a bit over the top and judgemental, but women tend to be more that way than men and probably for good reason, women do tend to get the short end of the stick in our culture and sometimes get a bit bitter about it...and they should.. RO2

I totally resent that, RO2. What you actually know about me is near nothing. (I know where all this is coming from too. A thread in heavy! ) I have already apologised to you and said I should never have let that thread get that far. 'I should have explained the full story 'ahead' of what happened, but my real question was (why) a spouse would do something like that?
Only when EG ask the final question did I explain the 'spouse' in question was a total creep and had always been mean to his spouse.
Judgmental about him, 'Yes' and still to this day!

As far as the heavy teacher, I was not 'Judging' her my feelings were 'heartfelt' for her. (her over-eating never entered my mind at that time)
When we are younger we don't have the knowledge we gain as we get older. (the oldest I could have been was 23y/o at that time.)

RO2 I also like 'Humor' and I thought my story was humorous, from so long ago. Had I thought I would have been judged on it I would have refrained from telling it.

and I find those who use it often to be quite critical of things and sometimes others...which is not bad. as much as it is descriptive..and when we had that discussion about the woman who whined all day till she saw her new car , there was a lot of "shoulding" being posted. RO2

If you remember RO2 I clearly stated the woman did not whine all day (or even bring it up) She tried very hard to make things happy and cheerful for all of us, including cooking a Hugh meal. (It was all of us could tell she was 'hurt' and she hid the tears early on, and never showed them to anyone. Only my husband and myself saw them)

I readily then said 'I' personally would not and that is when I apologised and said I had carried the thread in Heavy too far, without telling what a 'real monster' the spouse was.

My own marriage lasted longer than theirs did (and both spouses died)

The difference was: It was like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She spent money like crazy, she bought herself cars two different times. Her words were for the first time " I have been able to get a car I want" She even 'traveled' all by herself. California, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio. To see friends and relatives she had not been able to see all the years before. (something he had forbid her from ever doing, so far as to not let her travel to her own 'Mothers' and later her Fathers funeral.) He allowed her to send flowers. (all heart there)

She had her home fixed up the way she 'wanted' for a change. Remolded her kitchen and dining room, new flooring and new house siding.
I might add she was a Nurse too and worked better than 25 years of their marriage. 'But any of the money she made was taken by her 'spouse' as he said she would spend it foolishly.

Let us not think for a second money was an issue for them. It should have been 'our' money, but he described it as 'his' money only. Her money was not as much as his, by far, but she worked for it all the same. He on the other hand had a big salary, new company car every year, and a yearly bonus of not less than $50,000.00. (He took 'his' vacations to Cuba and other areas twice a year, and never let her go along) It is a shame when a wife begs and even says I won't be in your way. (I would like to see Cuba)

I am not at all angry and really happy to hear your character description of me. You have every right to speak as you feel about me.

Just as I have a right to defend 'myself' Although I did not think it would be necessary. (to straighten this story out though, I believe more needs to be known as to why I was judgemental against him and criticized him.)

I never criticized the heavy teacher, (however was extremely 'stupid' for bringing it up to her)
So far as the story goes "The man bought her a car, (He is a Saint) and she whined," when there is so much more to this story

RO2 I personally have always enjoyed your posts and humor, and believe I have indicated that.
Maybe in a few of them I have teased some. I tease many of our 'guests, posters' and so far they have enjoyed it.

(I shall certainly watch against that in the future) If I offended you in any way it was not my intention and again I am extremely sorry.

My issues have been Environmental and political and 'yes' I have been judgemental as has everyone else on the board as sear pointed out.

As far the Bomb blowing the wife up, yes I saw humor, because for one reason 'I could see it going both ways'
I can see one getting a laugh out of it, and can also see LotD,s reluctance to see the humor in it.
(not everyone sees' that type of humor as 'humor') Humor does not touch 'everyone' the same way!

I happen to be one of the very few, that does not find 'humor in 'Americas funniest Home Videos'
I cannot understand an entire audience laughing hysterically at a man falling off the roof of a house, getting hit in the head with a 2x4 pole, a child riding his bicycle into a tree, falling off, crying!
Maybe 2 segments out of the entire program I find funny, but they certainly do not involve danger, and pain, to the human or animal sepsis.
I just cannot see 'complete Audience laughter @ another's pain and misfortune. (it bothers me to see society laugh at anothers pain)

I believe in this case, since I am now 'Judgemental and critical' I needed to explain how I am. I mean no disrespect to RO2 or any one that has posted on this thread.
I was totally surprised to find it written in such a manor, however I can accept the criticism, and carry on. I would like all of us just to carry on.
