Liam Neeson. I'm sorry to say that I don't have a favorite actress.
But in truth, it's my joke, and I don't even get it. --- Sear |

I like Danny Glover, Brian Dennehy, Denzel Washington, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, etc.
Humphrey Bogart is sort of a sentimental favorite. Charlie Chaplin was an all time great talent, but in a narrow role. I like Dustin Hoffman & Meryl Streep for their range. Ingrid Bergman may be my favorite actress. Tough choice; it's been so long since I've seen many movies. I'm not sure I can make sense of picking a favorite actor or actress. Wouldn't they have to be in my favorite movie? My favorite movies include Stallone's First Blood (much richer than any of the Rambo remakes I've seen), & Paul Scofield's A Man For All Seasons, about the events leading up to the beheading of Sir Thomas More. They might seem like dissimilar movies. But they're both rich character studies about the subtleties of men of principle responding to adversity. |

I forgot all about Hugh Lorie.
I like John Wayne too. (only one I am angry at him for) That was the 'Searchers' and I believe it is a 'Classic' If someone I really like plays a part I disagree with (I hold it against them) I understood the concept of having to kill the girl (Natalie Wood) for being captured and forced to live with the Native/Americans, but that is the way they felt back in that era. (I was angry with him for shooting that herd of buffalo) sear Brian Dennehy was one of my favorites until he played the part of John Wayne Casey! I don't think I shall ever get over that.
Oh I still like him and understand its acting, but some roles are beneath some people. MO Oh Six |

That's not fair, Freebs. I can't decide among Spencer Tracy, Anthony Hopkins or Tommy Lee Jones for the males and Katherine Hepburn, Stockard Channing,
Jody Foster or Ruth Gordon for the females.
I guess I'll go with the classics and pick Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. Mac

I confuse my Hepburns; Kate & Audrey | #9 | ||

Mac,
Perhaps ~20 years ago Phil Donohue did an ~1 hr. interview with Kate Hepburn. It was pretty good, insightful Q & A. About 3/4 of the way though, Phil figured out she didn't even know his name. Free, It's too hard. I can't do it. Pick just one? Alec Guinness? Walter Houston? Marlon Brando? Chris Reeves was fun to watch; made a good Superman. Jack Palance played a detestable bad guy in Shane, one of the best Westerns in my opinion. But bad guys aren't popular. |
