Free, you didn't give me a choice.
I'm one of the lucky ones. Without any correction my eyesight is 12/20, both eyes. My hearing? That's another story.

I have never worn glasses, but I do need them now. A few years back I got me some bifocals. I couldn't get used to the division so I never used them.

"12/20" Thor ? I thought the first number was always 20; meaning, what others see at 20' you can see at X feet. If X is higher than 20, your vision is below average. If it's less than 20, your vision is above average. I've got glasses for driving. But my vision is good enough so that the law does not require me to wear them. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. |

I just asked the resident genius (my wife) and she told me it was 20/12 ....

I've had glasses since 5th grade. I've tried contacts and always had bad experiences with them. They would get lost in my eyes, fall out, dry out and
once they were ruined when I got a face full of fermahldahyde (sp?). So I've stuck with the glasses but I would love to have the surgery. But I have no
idea what my vision actually is.

I have tried several times to talk my wife into getting Lasik surgery. She is afraid that she will be the one out of a million that has something bad happen
and loses her vision. Irrational fear, but I have those myself (personally I am afraid of enclosed spaces).

I had to wear glasses for distance in the 80's, but after I had aew jr., my vision went back to 20/20.
Now, I have to hold really small print about a foot away to see it. I'm not much bothered. I don't want to wear glasses or contacts, and as long as I can pass the driver's test, I'm happy. However, the next time I have to take it, I might be sent on my merry way to the eye doctor. I'd much rather have the surgery, really. I've only heard good things about it.

I only have to were weak prescription glasses once a week when I pull a 16 hr shift of data entry to avoid eye strain. The rest of the time I don't need
glasses, it's just the extended time infront of a monitor that gives me a headache and eye strain.

I have glasses for reading. The more light, the less I need my glasses, too.

I wore contacts for years and a problem occurred so I went to glasses. (I have one excellent eye that actually needs nothing) It's only off by a point or
two. The other one is the problem.
I just had them checked again as I would have this tearing problem show up. (I don't usually talk about it) but the doctor actually put a different kind of contact lens in the one. Things improved tremendously. (even my headaches lessened) I only wear/wore it a short while. I have to wear the glasses on a chain because I can't get used to them and they make the floor low and I step high. I checked lasix but just for the one eye was way expensive. The other hardly needed anything. They too are two different colors. The one with the most blue is the problem one. I do need the gasses for reading and get along fine without anything most of the time now. I was told years ago contacts would help correct your eyesight problems. I don't know if they did help or not? Seems so. Oh Six |

they make the floor low and I step high. I had that same thing when I first started wearing
glasses.
For years, my mother wore a contact lens in just one eye. I had never heard of it before.
