* Another U.S. Horror Involvement |
Lead | |
|
Check out this article about Korean massacres that the U.S. military have known about and possible approved of. Just another hypocrisy that the U.S. government
was involved in, like the Iraqi War and Vietnam War. What rights did the U.S. have to divide the country in half and why did the U.S. support the south
government which deny a general election to unite the country. Either the people vote for the "democratic" or "communist", it's their
vote. Isn't that election and voting is all about? But these "democratic" people slaughtered almost 100,000 political prisoners - now, how
democratic is that? Don't the U.S. learned from the American Civil War that it's fatal to keep the country divided.

Republic15 wrote:The Soviet Union was at least as guilty as the U.S. for the partitioning of Korea -- just as it was for the partitioning of Germany. They were unfortunate byproducts of the Cold War. Atrocities were committed by both the North and the South Koreans. An investigation is unlikely to lead to any positive results. We must move on and see what can be done to promote reconciliation between North and South Korea under today's conditions. China is probably in the best position to help achieve that reconciliation.

.....Lest we not forget the intrisic involvement of the UN which seems to attract these sorts of incidents........Hindsight is generally needlesly selective in
it's targeted outrage. If we are going to show outrage, then do it for all involved..............

Tasteful Pause: Does the U.S. have a right of preemptive invasion? | ||
|
President Bush (younger) invaded Iraq on the premise that while Iraq might not have posed an immediate threat, that it might soon.
But is this a valid doctrine of legitimate international law? Any nation has a right to defend itself, even if (as in the case of Iraq) it doesn't have the capacity. But is it legitimate to invade on suspicion? And what if the suspicions are proved false? Is the invader obliged to make the invaded nation and People whole again? |

........To both questions, no he was not. I did support removing Saddam. I was happy the military toppled Iraq so quickly. I have been thourghly disappointed
with the management of the occupation ever since. If I knew then what I knew today I would not have supported removing Saddam. This should forever be a shining
beacon to not engage in a war before being attacked.........
