But we're already a $dozen $Trillion in debt.
Is this the right thing to do? Go into more debt, and pass the bill on to our children?

Should we just lie to Buckle, to make him feel better, but not pay for the repairs?

It might seem silly.
But retouching fashion photos has become so easy, quick, and cheap in our computer age, that images of fashion models can be retouched to perfection. Birthmarks disappear. Pores on skin can be drawn tight or removed. Skin creases (wrinkles) can be electronically filled in.

Back then cars were such dirty machines that the portion of the roadway between the creases the tires roll in were permanently stained with a layer of grease and oil.

That seems to have diminished substantially.
They don't sell shampoo in glass bottles anymore. Bar codes proliferate.
